An enjoyable hike in this little corner of Rajasthan, offering a comprehensive mix of nature and culture
6hrs | Hike | Medium, Family Friendly | All Year | Mount Abu
Aravalli hill views, nomadic settlements, scrub
Our trek starts at the gate of the Mount Abu wildlife sanctuary and the initial section will bring us to a lovely lake. This is Trevor’s Tank and his 3 sisters watch over us – they are the hills that form the backdrop as you look to your right. We will spend a few minutes here to admire the sylvan surroundings, and catch our breath.
From here, the gradient kicks up as we ascend the Three Sisters. The ~30minute uphill section is absolutely worth it for the fantastic views from the top ridge.
We will spend the rest of the day meandering the flanks of the hills, taking in the views and also visiting a nomadic (Garasia) tribal settlement in the bush. We will return by late afternoon.
